Learn how the Himalayan Climate Initiative mobilizes national volunteers for disaster preparedness and
sustainable development. The Initiative engages and educates youth volunteers who help demonstrate
and advocate resiliency among community members. Some of the notable achievements of the young
volunteers so far are helping build 696 resilient homes, providing 1,100 scholarships to children in
distress, and providing job placement for 679 needy women. The National Volunteer Peacetime Actions
also conducts youth-to- youth counseling and other advocacy campaigns.
