Promoting ICT Facilities in Developing Early Warning Response Mechanisms for Cyclone-Exposed Seagoing Fishers in Southwest Bangladesh
Around one million people fish in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh, an area highly prone to cyclones, sea depression, tidal surge, high tide, salinity intrusion, and river erosion. Recently, the rate of cyclones and sea depressions in this area increased, creating high risks to traditional seagoing fishermen.
